This course is designed for ServiceNow administrators and consultants who need to implement and administer ServiceNow Discovery.

This training, which is is a combination of course content and lab work, will help participants learn how to capture IP-enabled configuration items (CIs), map relationships and dependencies in the ServiceNow CMDB using probes, sensors, and sensing models.

Goals:

  • Understand the big picture of the ServiceNow Discovery solution
  • Install and configure multiple MID Servers to configure a MID Server
  • Understand credential-less and credential-based discovery
  • Configure discovery to find Linux and Windows servers, network devices, and applications
  • Prevent duplicate configuration items with configuration item identifiers
  • Create new CI classes
  • Extend horizontal tracking with custom infrastructure templates and application templates
  • Learn common troubleshooting techniques
